My name is Eric Altendorf. My first linux distro was whatever the latest version of Slackware was back in '94 or so. I downloaded it via a 9600 or 14.4 modem on someone else's machine and sneakernet'ed it to my machine on a dozen or so floppies.

These days I run Fedora Core 2 (because it was plug 'n play, and I've been configuring systems for too long to enjoy customization and hacking anymore ;-) on my toshiba libretto (a sweet wide-form-factor microlaptop, which just happens to be my only PC for the past 3 years).

I'm a graduate student in computer science studying artificial intelligence with Tom Dietterich here at OSU.
