I hope it's cool that I put this page here, but if it's not, don't blaim me, BethGordon told me it was okay. :)

Check out some RecommendedPrograms.

How about a GmailPool?

A few things about me:

  • I am married to a lovely lady named Angie, who is awesome.
  • I am currently studying Computer Science, to which I recently switched from CpE after deciding I like the software more than the hardware.
  • I am a fourth-year student here, though I am only at Junior status at the moment. (slackin' off a bit there for a while)
  • I work for the OSU SCF, in the Milne computer lab (and some other ones occasionally). Feel free to come harass me (not really...you're not supposed to "harass" anyone.). Oh, and we are going to have dual-boot to Linux on some of the machines in this lab soon (note: that was said a while ago...still no progress that I know of..)!
  • I am running Gentoo on my computer at the moment, and have no plans to change that for a good long time (unless someone shows me something better, and even then, I'm used to Gentoo now, so I may not switch)
  • Fluxbox is my current WindowManager of choice. I am not as attached to this as I am to Gentoo, and sometimes will try out a new one and decide to use that for a while. some of the Window Managers that I've gone through:
    • Fluxbox http://fluxbox.org/ - One of the whateverBox clones, but it has a lot of very very nice features (like support for Gnome and KDE applications. It will even put their little icons on the panel properly), and is super lightweight. I would suggest anyone wanting to try it to get the latest development version: [0.9.10] or later. Hopefully version 1.0 will come out soon.
    • Kahakai - This one has been abandoned, actually, because the code was too messy and whatnot. It is still a pretty good WindowManager, though, with Python, and maybe other scripting support built in. Again, another light-weight WM.
    • Enlightenment - A step away from the lightweight WM catergory, but still not as much as a resource hog as KDE or Gnome. It is very pretty and allows you to drag your virtual desktops and stuff around (though I only use one, so I never use this feature). There are a lot of themes for it, so you can make it look and act however you'd like.
    • I've experemented with various others to varying degrees, some for main use, though most of them were for a nice, really light-weight one for use over VNC. WM2 http://www.all-day-breakfast.com/wm2/ fits well into this catergory, and does its simple job well. There is also [WMX] for those who don't want to wait the full 15 seconds(yes, I wasn't lying when I said light-weight) it takes for WM2 to recompile to change a configuration option.
  • I am a programmer. I do lots of various programming when I have time. From C to C++ to Java, Python, and PHP (the one I've spent the most time on recently). I currently have plans to write a window-manager with lots of yet-unheard-of features...or at least I've never heard of them. That's all I'm tellin' for now...until I get a formal design-document or something done.
  • Yes, I am awesome.

A few things I'd like to note:

  • Wiki's are cool, in fact there is one on my Personal Webpage, along with my Blog. Feel free to mess with my Wiki as much as you'd like...it's fun!
  • I can't think of anything else to note at this time.

I'd also like to point out that MichaelMiller is a huge tool.
